Trump's Repeated Claims of Overvoting in California.

"In many places, like California, the same person votes many times. You probably heard about that. They always like to say 'oh that's a conspiracy theory.' Not a conspiracy theory, folks. Millions and millions of people."
Trump just said this.

This is how you start a civil war. Promote a Through the Looking Glass mirror reality; undermine trust; shift folks into opposing, irreconcilable perspectives. That's what gives resentful angry folks license to take things into their own hands.

For the record, re: California, here's a slide from my voter suppression talk. California is close to the absolute most diluted state in the nation, NY. I used the metric of 142,741 voters b/c that's how many get you one elector in the most powerful state, WY. That same number gets you .28 electors in CA and .27 in NY.

Notice that line: 15 states are above it -- literally, many of the top 15 have only about half the power of WY. The other thirty five states sit below it in terms of vote dilution.

The Electoral College is a vestige of slavery. It should have been abolished with the 13th Amendment. It is the reason a candidate can win the popular vote by nearly 3M votes and still lose the election. So when you come across a Republican, and they start arguing, here are some questions to ask.

Do you think your vote and my vote should be equal?

What is the reason that the good people of WY and VT get 4 times the power of the people of CA and NY to elect a president?

Do you think this makes sense that our most populated states, which have the strongest economies, have the least say in who leads our country?
